Meisam, known among friends and colleagues as "Sam", is a first generation Iranian-American and an aspiring psychologist. He is currently pursuing doctoral education in Counseling Psychology at Washington State University and his research is focused on Acculturation and Help-Seeking Behaviors of Immigrants Populations.
Previously, he attained a Master of Science degree in Experimental Psychology with an emphasis in behavior analysis from Central Washington University, where he also earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and completed an Honors' Thesis.
As an active member of the campus community, Sam has served in various academic and non-academic leadership roles. Most recently he was elected President of the "Iranian Students Association" at WSU.
A self-taught musician (pianist, composer, and arranger), in 2015 Meisam co-founded Dr.BAND, a local pop-traditional Persian fusion band with fellow graduate students. He is also an amateur DJ, poet, photographer, and an experimental cook!
